Captain Smit Machchhar, an Indian pilot for flydubai, is being praised for his actions during a cockpit attack on Flight FZ1073. The flight, which was traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv, was diverted to Saudi Arabia after an altercation in the cockpit. Machchhar managed to open the cockpit door despite being stabbed by his co-pilot, allowing passengers and crew to regain control of the aircraft^{[1, 3, 4]}. The flight landed safely, and all 174 passengers, including 27 children, were unharmed^{[3, 5]}.
